CAIRO, Feb 4 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted the importance of rebuilding the Gaza Strip and adopting a unified Arab stand to support the achievement of perpetual peace and stability in the Middle East (ME).
Sisi made the remarks during a phone call on Tuesday with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed Shennawy said.
The talks tackled means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various domains, especially the economic and investment sectors.
The talks also reviewed the latest regional developments.
President Sisi highlighted the efforts exerted by Egypt to ensure full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, including hostage-prisoner swap and ensuring access of humanitarian aid to mitigate the effects of the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
For his part, the Bahraini king lauded the mediation efforts crowned by clinching the ceasefire, commending Egypt's pivotal role in this regard.
He underlined the importance of full implementation of the deal, stressing that it is inevitable to start a political path leading to a lasting peace agreement that achieves the aspired regional stability.
The talks also tackled the latest developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya and Sudan.
The two leaders underlined the importance of realizing stability in sisterly countries and avoiding conflicts. (MENA)
