CAIRO, Feb 4 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reaffirmed the importance of ongoing efforts to protect Egypt’s natural reserves and advance environmental projects, stressing the need for closer coordination with respect to this among all state institutions.

During a meeting with Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad, he reviewed progress in managing protected areas from 2018 to 2024, including eco-tourism promotion and measures to tackle environmental challenges.

Fouad reviewed ongoing conservation efforts in Wadi El-Gemal, Wadi Degla, Wadi El-Rayan, Lake Qarun, and the Petrified Forest, as well as initiatives to strengthen Egypt’s blue economy and combat air pollution and climate change.

She also discussed World Bank cooperation on environmental programs and her recent inspection tour of the sites of green projects in Sharm El-Sheikh, as well as reinforcing the government’s focus on turning environmental investment into a key driver of economic growth and sustainability.

The Ministry of Environment is actively working on attracting private sector investments in green projects, aiming to position Egypt as a regional leader in sustainable development and low-carbon growth, according to her. (MENA)
