CAIRO, Dec 4 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Emigrations and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Wednesday Egypt supports the Syrian state as well as its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
This came in a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Abdelatty said there is great importance to protect civilians in light of the dire repercussions of the current developments on the security and stability of Syria and the entire region.
During the call, the two ministers discussed the latest developments in Syria on back of the recent developments in northern Syria.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, especially with regard to the developments in Sudan, as well as the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, where they agreed on the need to reach an immediate ceasefire and unconditional access to humanitarian aid. (MENA)
