CAIRO, Nov 27 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty praised the role played by humanitarian funds in providing relief aid.
This came in the top diplomat’s meeting Wednesday with Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Humanitarian Funds of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani.
Abdelatty appreciated the Qatari efforts made to provide aid to countries facing humanitarian crises.
He asserted Egypt's position calling for expanding humanitarian assistance to include in-kind aid in addition to financial aid.
He hoped of developing cooperation with Qatar in all domains, including the humanitarian one, on back of developments in the region that require Egyptian-Qatari cooperation in the humanitarian domain.
In this regard, the Egyptian top diplomat reviewed the Ministerial Conference for Humanitarian Aid to Gaza, scheduled to be hosted by Cairo on December 2.
Abdelatty pointed to the possibility of cooperation between humanitarian funds and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, to implement joint humanitarian initiatives in Africa, to achieve mutual benefit for all parties. (MENA)
