CAIRO, Nov 7 (MENA) - The Armed Forces General Command mourned on Thursday Mohamed el Masri, one of the Egyptian heroes of the October 6, 1973 War, who passed away at 76.
Masri played a heroic role during the great war as he took part in destroying 27 Israeli tanks, including the tank of Asaf Yajouri, commander of an Israeli tank battalion in Sinai. His tank was destroyed and he was captured then released 46 days in a prisoner swap deal.
The deceased was granted the Order of Sinai Star in 1974 and was honored by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the cultural seminar organized by the Armed Forces General Command on the 51th anniversary of October Victory.
