CAIRO, Nov 4 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt will maintain its support for Sudan at all levels to help Sudanese brethren get over their current crisis it.
Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, on the margins of the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12) in Cairo on Monday.
Asserting Egypt's firm position as regards the need to reach a ceasefire and stop the bloodshed in Sudan, Sisi briefed the Sudanese official on Egypt’s regional and international efforts towards that goal, according to a statement by Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
Meanwhile, Burhan thanked Egypt for its genuine support for de-escalation efforts, as well as commitment to preserving the unity, security and stability of Sudan.
He also voiced his appreciation as well as the appreciation of all the people of Sudan for hosting Sudanese refugees in Egypt during their crisis. (MENA)
