President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the state is exerting strenuous efforts to transform desert lands into arable ones.

He pointed out that the cost of infrastructure, specifically the energy transmission alone excluding the cost of electricity generated from the central grid to supply the reclamation project of 2.2 million feddans, amounts to tens of billions of Egyptian pounds.

He emphasized that converting desert land into productive, cultivable land needs massive investments, highlighting the efforts exerted by the government and state institutions in this regard.

The President added the private sector can request access to lands for reclamation purposes.

He explained that the state has decided to implement the project institutionally and systematically in full, before allowing the private sector to participate through mechanisms, such as usufruct rights, leasing, or purchase.

He called on the government, investors, industrialists, and the private sector to work towards improving the quality of Egypt’s livestock wealth to increase its production.

He stressed the necessity of establishing a factory for producing infant formula in Egypt, given the import volume of 40 to 45 million cans.

He called for improving cattle breeds in Egypt, pointing out that cattle breeds in Egypt produce one kilogram of meat daily, while other breeds produce 1.8 kilograms of meat, depending on the same amount of feed. (MORE)
