The Kuwaiti emir welcomed ongoing preparations for Cairo's hosting of the Gulf-Egypt Investment Forum this year. He confirmed Kuwait's determination to effectively participate in the event in a way that helps achieve the common interests of Egypt and the Gulf region, said the statement.

The two sides commended mutual support in various international forums, citing Kuwait's endorsement of the nomination of Dr. Khaled el Anani for the post of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the 2025-2029 term, it added.

They also praised close coordination on regional and international issues of common interest, emphasizing the need to promote the culture of peace, dialogue, and diplomatic settlement of disputes in the Middle East region with a view to achieving development and peaceful coexistence among the region's countries; consistently with the values of tolerance, respect of states' sovereignty over their territories, and non-interference in their internal affairs, it pointed out.

President Sisi extolled the Kuwaiti emir's efforts to support security and stability in the Arab region, especially in light of Kuwait's presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) this year, read the statement.

Both sides commended the remarkable progress achieved in relations between GCC states and Egypt, affirming keenness to enhance mechanisms for political consultation, the latest meeting of which took place on March 6 in the Saudi city of Mecca, it said.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti emir applauded President Sisi's efforts to consolidate peace, security and good neighborliness in the region.

He also commended Egypt's hosting of the extraordinary Arab Summit held on March 4, 2025, affirming Kuwait's support of the Arab-Islamic plan for the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, said the statement.

On that score, the Kuwaiti emir stressed his country’s rejection of any calls for the displacement of the Palestinian people, it added. (MORE)
