The French president hailed the role of the French Development Agency, Agence Française de Développement (AFD), describing its as Egypt's top financial partner with commitments amounting to four billion euros since 2006.

He said that the during his current visit to Egypt, grants and loans worth 160 million euros will signed in different fields, including energy, transport, water and sanitation.

The Egyptian-French Business Forum, which will convenes today, marks the profound economic relations between the two countries, Macron said, adding that France is Europe's top investor in Egypt's non-hydrocarbon sector with investments surpassing 7 billion euros.

France gives top priority to investments in urban transportation, which promotes growth, especially in a city like Cairo, Macron said, adding that he will take Cairo Metro Line 3.

France has been committed to its partnership in the construction of the Cairo Metro since 1984, maintaining upgrade of Metro Line 1, Macron said.

He added that France contributes to the construction of Metro Line 6, which is given a top priority by France and Egypt.

The French minister highlighted cooperation in the health sector, which falls within the framework of France's efforts to sign agreements to combat cancer and strengthen bilateral partnerships and the humanitarian and health efforts undertaken by the two countries to assist people in the Gaza Strip.

Macron shed light on the close cooperation between Egypt and France in several fields, including the food, energy, and services industries.

He added that the first two Rafale aircraft of the second batch will arrive in Egypt on the occasion of his official visit. (MORE)
