He briefed the official on the measures taken by the Egyptian government to further create a favorable environment for investment.

The first Egyptian-EU Investment Conference held in June in the presence of Sisi and, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, where many agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed.

The top diplomat added that scientific, cultural and technological cooperation was also discussed, especially since Egypt joined the frameworks and mechanisms of the European Union to consolidate cooperation in the field of research and science and the exchange of students and professors, including the "Horizon Europe" and "Erasmus+" programs.

He added that combating illegal immigration was also discussed, as since September 2016, no boat carrying illegal emigrants left the Egyptian coast, he said, noting that Egypt wants more European backing because the burdens are huge, with the presence of 9 million guests on Egyptian territory.
