CAIRO, March 1 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Saturday discussed with Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhammad Mustafa developments of Egyptian efforts meant to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and implement its three phases.
Abdelatty and Mustafa reviewed updates of the Palestinian issues as well as developments in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
During a meeting, the two sides discussed Gaza rebuilding plans without the displacement of Palestinians from their homeland, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf.
Arrangements for the extraordinary Arab Summit that will take place in Cairo on Tuesday were discussed during the meeting, the spokesman said.
Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's support to the Palestinian authority and its crucial role in the Gaza Strip, which is deemed an integral part of the Palestinian territories, alongside the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the spokesman added.
Abdelatty was keen on getting acquainted with the vision of the Palestinian prime minister as regards the rebuilding of Gaza, including his expectations about the outcomes of the conference that will be hosted by Egypt, in collaboration with the United Nations.
The Egyptian foreign minister was keen on listening to the assessment of the Palestinian top official regarding situation in the West Bank, amid the ongoing Israeli operation targeting cities and camps of the West Bank, the spokesman noted. (MENA)
