Foreign Minister Abdelatty stated that the Palestinian people have proven their determination to defend their land and rights, making this moment a litmus test of the international community’s commitment to humanity and justice.
He stressed the urgency of consolidating the ceasefire, facilitating prisoner-hostage exchange, and ensuring a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
Discussions also addressed security arrangements and governance in Gaza, as well as the Egyptian-backed reconstruction plan, which includes early recovery phases.
Abdelatty noted that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and his Palestinian counterpart Mohammad Mustafa held talks on the plan, which will be presented at a ministerial meeting on Monday before submission to Arab leaders for approval.
The top diplomat confirmed Egypt’s support for a transitional administrative body to manage daily life in Gaza for six months, working alongside efforts to fully reinstate the Palestinian Authority’s governance over the territory.
Egypt is also conducting training programs for Palestinian police officers to enable them to take charge of security and law enforcement in Gaza. (MORE)
