CAIRO, Feb 19 (MENA) – Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted that the state continues to do its best to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and implement its three phases.

During the cabinet weekly meeting on Wednesday, the premier said the state is also intensifying its efforts to ensure access of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip in light of the deteriorating living conditions there.

Within this context, he pointed out that Egypt is working to develop a comprehensive and multi-stage vision for early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza.

He added that Egypt is committed to its firm stand on the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution which remains the only way to achieve peace in the region.

During the weekly meeting, Madbouli also highlighted the current official visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Spain within the framework of enhancing bilateral cooperation and discussing a number of political issues of common interest.

President Sisi’s talks in Spain will review means of promoting economic relations between the two countries in the coming stage, the prime minister said.

On the fringe of the visit, the president will hold talks with heads and representatives of various Spanish companies in the field of shipbuilding and maintenance, renewable energy systems, as well as the hotel and travel sector.

This falls within the framework of highlighting promising investment opportunities in the Egyptian market in various domains, the premier added.

He referred to holding the 8th edition of Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition "EGYPES 2025" which was sponsored by President Sisi, noting that Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides attended the event at an invitation from President Sisi.

The premier noted that EGYPES witnessed tangible development over the past years, thus becoming a more comprehensive platform for energy solutions.

He highlighted that the event became a prominent event at the regional and global energy level.

He accentuated that the Egyptian state gives a top priority to the energy sector at this stage.

Madbouli noted that a round table was held yesterday at the Cabinet HQ comprising CEOs and representatives of about 30 energy companies operating in Egypt. The talks reviewed investment plans of these companies in the coming period.

Meanwhile, the prime minister touched on his visit to Ethiopia, during which he led - on behalf of President Sisi - the Egyptian delegation to the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union in Addis Ababa.

During meetings on the sidelines of the get-together, he underscored Egypt’s stand concerning the current developments in the Middle East, highlighting Egypt’s non-stop efforts to calm down conditions in the region.

Meanwhile, he referred to inaugurating Ramadan fair in Cairo governorate as well as plans to continue holding similar fairs in various governorates every year, within the framework of the president's directives to ensure the availability of staple commodities to citizens at affordable prices.
