CAIRO, Feb 13 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the government is putting the final touches to the social protection package before submitting it to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the coming few days for approval.

In a press conference held on Thursday following the weekly cabinet meeting, the premier said the new package, which will be announced within days, includes extraordinary measures that will be in place as of the next three months and increasing salaries and pensions which will be effective as of July 1, 2025.

Madbouli stated the inflation rate in Egypt is currently declining, noting that the inflation rate in January 2025 stood at 23.2%, compared to December 2024.

He expected the annual inflation rate to register a large drop in February. (MENA)
