CAIRO, Feb 5 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Wednesday the government is currently working on developing a new social protection package to increase salaries and pensions, adding that the new package will be in place as of the start of the next fiscal year.
The package will be examined and finalized then it will be submitted to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Madbouli made the remarks during a press conference Wednesday following the weekly cabinet meeting.
Madbouli stressed that the government is preparing for the holy fasting month of Ramadan to secure citizens' needs, noting that this file is being followed up around the clock to ensure price stability.
As of February, "Welcome Ramadan" exhibitions were held across the nation as part of Ramadan preparations, the premier added.
He added that a meeting was held this week with the Board of Trustees of the National Alliance for Civilian and Development Action, stressing that efforts will be intensified with civil society organizations over the next three months to reach as many low-income families as possible and improve their living standards.
