Abdelatty pointed out that discussions were held regarding Sudan, and it was agreed with the Turkish side on the necessity of a ceasefire, prioritizing a political solution, and preserving national institutions in support of restoring stability and peace to the Arab-African country.

He said that he briefed the Turkish foreign minister on the outcomes of his visits to Port Sudan and the efforts being made to maintain the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan.

The top Egyptian diplomat said that the situation in Somalia and the Horn of Africa region was discussed, noting that the two sides share common views on the importance of preserving Somalia’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. They also highlighted Turkey's mediation efforts, with Abdelatty expressing hope that negotiations between the Somali and Ethiopian sides would take place this month in a way that benefits Somalia’s stability and territorial unity.

He noted that the discussions also covered a range of important files, including water security, emphasizing that water security is an existential issue for Egypt.

At the conclusion of his remarks, the minister affirmed commitment to continuing efforts to deepen cooperation between Egypt and Turkey, aiming to expand bilateral relations and reinforce peace and stability in the region. He added that collaborative efforts would continue to serve the interests of both countries, as well as the security and stability of the region and the African continent.
