ANKARA, Feb 4 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, following directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, to discuss trade, investment ties and regional developments.

According to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tamim Khallaf, Abdelatty conveyed President Sisi’s greetings to Erdogan, hailing the positive momentum in Egypt-Turkey relations, marked by increased high-level exchanges and expanding economic relations.

During the meeting, Abdelatty reviewed opportunities for trade and investment, stressing the importance of a joint business forum to enhance economic cooperation. He reaffirmed Egypt’s goal to boost the trade volume with Turkey to $15 billion in the coming years and welcomed further Turkish investments in Egypt.

The talks also covered regional security issues, particularly Gaza, where Abdelatty detailed Egypt’s efforts to implement a ceasefire, accelerate humanitarian aid, and begin reconstruction efforts to prevent displacement.

On Syria, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s support for its territorial integrity and a comprehensive political settlement. He also reviewed Egypt’s initiatives to restore stability in Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and the Horn of Africa.

Meanwhile, Erdogan praised Egypt’s diplomatic efforts, emphasizing the importance of closer cooperation between Egypt and Turkey in economic and regional matters. (MENA)
