CAIRO, Feb 2 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi appreciated on Sunday Kuwait's firm stances in supporting the Palestinian cause.
The president made the remarks while receiving Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al Sabah.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Defense Abdel Meguid Saqr and Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfiq, along with Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cairo Ghanem Saqr al Ghanem and Head of the Kuwaiti state security agency Khaled Abdel Hadi Al Shanfa.
Presidential spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy said the Kuwaiti minister conveyed the greetings of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mashaal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah to President Sisi, hailing the deep-rooted brotherly relations.
President Sisi appreciated the stances of the Kuwaiti Emir, praising the depth of strategic relations between the two countries and peoples.
He expressed Egypt's keenness on pursuing cooperation with Kuwait in all domains, especially in the economic, investment, security, and defense areas.
According to the spokesman, the meeting touched on regional conditions topped by the Gaza developments, the ceasefire, and the delivery of aid to the war-ravaged enclave.
President Sisi hailed Kuwait's pioneering role in humanitarian work, calling for stepping up joint efforts to ensure the delivery of sufficient quantities of aid to Palestinian territory.
He called for ensuring the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement to achieve regional stability and the two-state solution in line with the international legitimacy resolutions.
The Kuwaiti official praised efforts exerted by Egypt and Qatar, in cooperation with the United States, to broker the Gaza ceasefire agreement. (MENA)
