CAIRO, Jan 27 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that Egypt will exert utmost efforts with the Palestinian and Israeli sides to ensure their commitment to implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Egypt seeks to guarantee that the deal holds and the ceasefire is sustainable, he added.
AlQahera news channel quoted Abdelatty as lauding the Gaza ceasefire agreement that was reached through Egypt's intensive genuine efforts over more than 15 months, in cooperation with Qatar and the United States.
Abdelatty said that Egypt's prime goal during the ceasefire talks had been to stop the intense aggression and protect the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
He further said that the deal includes three interconnected stages, adding that the duration of each stage is six weeks (42 days). (MENA)
