CAIRO, Jan 10 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Friday discussed with Mozambique's acting Foreign Minister Manuel José Gonçalves ways of fostering bilateral relations.
During their phone conversation, Abdelatty offered congratulations on the election of Daniel Chapo as Mozambique's president, saying Egypt looks forward to achieving stability, prosperity and development in the African nation.
The foreign minister stressed Egypt's keenness to promote bilateral relations in various areas and build on the historic visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Mozambique in 2023.
The two top diplomats emphasized the depth of relations between Egypt and Mozambique, underlining the importance of enhancing cooperation in different fields, including the trade and investment ones.
They exchanged views on regional issues of common concern, notably the situation in Africa and the efforts to support the African integration process.
Abdelatty and Gonçalves emphasized the importance of supporting the two countries' nominations for positions in regional and international organizations.
The two ministers agreed on continuing coordination and consultation to strengthen bilateral ties, affirming the importance of intensifying the exchange of visits and holding joint committees periodically to bring about the two countries' interests. (MENA)
