BRUSSELS, July 14 (MENSA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestine made it difficult to speak of sound relations between Northern and Southern Mediterranean countries.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 5th EU–Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting held in Brussels on Monday, Abdelatty added that genuine cooperation is not possible amid continued human rights violations by one of the parties, which persists in killing civilians and using starvation as a form of collective punishment.

He stressed that Egypt’s participation in such international forums was of paramount importance to deliver a clear Egyptian and Arab message: that Europe must act effectively and exert maximum pressure on Israel to uphold basic human rights and respect international law. (MENA)
