KUWAIT/CAIRO, Nov 24 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and his Kuwaiti counterpart Abdullah Al Yahya commended brotherly and historic bonds between the two sisterly countries.

They said they are looking forward to boosting joint cooperation.

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khalaf said that the two ministers emphasized the need of the implementation of directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah to strengthen ties between both nations.

The two ministers underscored the importance of following up on the outcome of the 13th joint higher committee in the political, economic, trade, educational, consular and cultural domains, which was held in Cairo in September.

Efforts are concentrated on implementing memoranda of understanding and cooperation programs that were signed during the committee's functions, in addition to arrangements for the 24th round in Kuwait.

During the meeting, the latest developments in the Middle East region, topped by the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon were touched on. They agreed on the necessity of reaching an immediate and everlasting ceasefire and de-escalating to avert dragging the region into a regional war.

Both sides exchanged viewpoints on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern. (MENA)
