CAIRO, May 15 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted the utmost keenness on boosting bilateral relations between Egypt and Mauritania on all fronts.
The foreign minister's remarks came at a meeting with Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug on Thursday.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the ministerial preparatory meeting for the Arab summit in Baghdad.
Abdelatty said he is looking forward to the convocation of a joint committee between the two sides this month in Nouakchott.
He commended mutual coordination regarding different Arab and African issues.
He underlined the need of intensifying efforts to foster trade and economic relations between the two sides and capitalize on capabilities of the two countries to achieve joint interests.
During the meeting, they exchanged viewpoints towards several issues of mutual concern at both the Arab and African arenas.
They discussed the latest developments in Gaza, Libya, Sudan and the Sahel and the Sahara region.
They agreed on intensifying joint coordination between the two sides to support security and stability. (MENA)
