CAIRO, April 28 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday congratulated over the phone his Gabonese counterpart Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema over winning the country’s presidential election.
In statements, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy said that President Sisi was keen to congratulate the Gabonese president on his victory in the election, which reflected the Gabonese people's confidence in their leadership.
President Sisi deemed holding the presidential election as an essential step towards completing the transitional process in Gabon, said the spokesman.
Sisi also wished the Gabonese president success in his mission to achieve comprehensive development in the country and promote regional integration in the African continent, the spokesman added.
During the phone call, the two sides discussed boosting bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the two countries' interests and fulfils their peoples' aspirations, according to Shennawy.
Also, President Sisi pledged Egypt's commitment to supporting Gabon in its development march, stressing the importance of shoring up economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, he said. (MENA)
