CAIRO, March 18 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Egypt is keen on promoting peaceful solutions to resolve regional conflicts by dialogue and joint cooperation.

Abdelatty was speaking during a phone call with EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa Annette Weber on Tuesday, to share their views on the latest developments in the Horn of Africa.

Highlighting the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to address regional security challenges, Abdelatty briefed the European official on Egypt's active role and mediation efforts to support stability in the Horn of Africa.

He was also keen to listen to Weber's views about her recent visit to Port Sudan. Abdelatty laid an emphasis on the determinants of the Egyptian position regarding the need to preserve the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sudan.

He expressed hopes for restoring calm and stability in Sudan.

Abdelatty also stressed the importance of supporting Somalia's stability, and respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He emphasized Egypt's commitment to maintain its efforts in support of Somalia's state institutions. (MENA)
