CAIRO, March 17 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty hosted on Monday a meeting with foreign ambassadors and representatives of embassies and international agencies on the reconstruction of the health sector in the Gaza Strip in the ministry's premises.
The meeting offered an important opportunity for presenting the reconstruction plan in the Gaza Strip and was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
Abdelatty highlighted the integrated plan for reconstructing the coastal enclave, which was devised by Egypt in coordination with the Palestinian government.
Egypt and Jordan have started training Palestinian police elements to deploy them in the war-torn Gaza Strip, he said.
The foreign minister emphasized the reconstruction plan in Gaza was regionally and internationally supported and that Egypt is now acting to arrange for hosting a conference in Cairo for Gaza reconstruction to secure necessary funding to implement the plan.
Abdelatty said there is also a proposal that the United Nations Security Council study the possibility of an international presence in the Palestinian lands in Gaza and the West Bank. (MENA)
