CAIRO, Feb 25 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli stressed the great importance Egyptian government attached to success of development works at Ras el Hekma on the northern coast of Matrouh Governorate.

During a meeting Tuesday to follow up on the path of work development at the project, the prime minister pointed out to the project's pioneering role in luring investments and tourism, providing more job opportunities and achieving added value to the Egyptian economy, Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el-Homossani said.

Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development Kamel al-Wazir, Minister of Industry and Transport, Sherif el-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh Islam Rajab, the deputy governor of Matrouh, together with officials of related ministries and government officials attended the meeting, he added.

A number of files related to the project, along with compensation and removals in Ras el-Hikma area and ongoing work in the investment area, including the building of a hotel and the company’s administrative area, figured high during the meeting, according to the spokesman.

The meeting also tackled work progress at the Shams el-Hekma area—the alternative housing site for families—including the implementation of the utilities network covering water and sanitation services, as well as the main and secondary road network and building an experimental school, he said.

Disbursing compensation for Ras el-Hikma region, with a total value of disbursed compensation exceeding EGP 6 billion, was also discussed during the meeting, noted the spokesman. (MENA)
