CAIRO, Feb 6 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli met Thursday with tourism investors to review the progress of development efforts in Egypt’s Northwestern Coast.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Housing Sherif El Sherbiny, senior ministry officials overseeing the project, alongside developers and tourism investors.

The meeting aimed to enhance coordination to achieve the government’s vision for developing the area stretching from west of Ras El-Hekma to east of Matrouh, contributing to an increase in incoming tourists, the premier said.

Our goal is to transform the Northwestern Coast into a world-class tourist destination throughout the year. This will only be possible by providing adequate infrastructure and sufficient hotels, he added.

The tourism investors pledged to collaborate with the government to achieve objectives while highlighting the challenges they face in their development plans.

They requested an expansion of services in the region, including healthcare, administrative, and security services, as well as the establishment of an airport and a yacht marina.

Additionally, the investors called for a global marketing plan, to which they would contribute financially.

In response, the prime minister directed the Minister of Housing and Urban Communities to commission a consulting firm to develop a master plan for the area, extending at least 10 kilometers inland, which all tourism investors must adhere to, ensuring the region is developed to the highest standards.
