CAIRO, Jan 26 (MENA) - Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi rejected attempts to displace the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip, saying such attempts aim to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

These calls are blatant violation of the international legitimacy resolutions and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, Al Yamahi said.

In a statement on Sunday, Al Yamahi stressed that forced displacement is a crime under the international humanitarian law, calling on the international community to reject such initiatives clearly and explicitly.

Al Yamahi stressed the Arab Parliament's full support of the Palestinian people's steadfastness until they get their inalienable rights, foremost among which is their right to return, self-determination and set up an independent state with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital.

He called on regional and international parliaments to urge their countries to protect these rights and support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in face of plots aiming at liquidating the Palestinian cause. (MENA)
