CAIRO, Jan 15 (MENA) – Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty met Wednesday with Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Lt. General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan in Port Sudan.
Abdelatty said Egypt continues with its strenuous efforts to achieve stability in Sudan, expressing its full solidarity with Sudan and support for its stability, security, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, his official spokesperson Tamim Khallaf said.
He affirmed keenness to continue joint cooperation to achieve the interests of the two peoples, reviewing Egypt's efforts aimed at supporting stability in Sudan and resuming its activity in the African Union.
He welcomed the decisions of the Sovereignty Council regarding accelerating the pace of implementation of humanitarian aid to Sudan.
Abdelatty reviewed the facilities provided by Egypt to the Sudanese people in Egypt until their safe return to their country after the restoration of security and stability in Sudan.
For his part, Burhan appreciated Sisi’s sending the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Port Sudan for the second time in a short period.
He also asked to convey the thanks and appreciation of the Sudanese people for the Egyptian government for hosting the Sudanese citizens who sought refuge during the recent period.
He praised the successful holding of the secondary school exams for the children of the Sudanese community in Egypt, whose number exceeds 28,000 students. (MENA)
