N'DJAMENA, Dec 27 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave directives to push forward ties with African states, particularly neighboring countries.
In statements on Friday to Al Qahera news channel, Abdelatty said that the African channel is one of the main channels of the Egyptian foreign policy.
Egypt pays great attention to the African Sahel region, particularly Chad, as one of the most important regions to which Egypt pays all attention to further advancing ties as this region faces the explicit threat of terrorism, Abdelatty said.
This matter places weighty responsibility on Egypt to support these countries in fighting terrorism, taking into consideration the great investment, trade and economic opportunities that Egyptian companies, with their great expertise, could contribute to the modernization and development processes in these countries, he stressed.
In line with President Sisi's directives, Abdelatty said that he, accompanied by a high-level delegation, is currently visiting Chad.
The delegation groups senior officials from the ministries of housing, investment, foreign trade, and defense, as well as a delegation of Egyptian businessmen and representatives of major Egyptian companies from the public and private sectors, including the Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.).
