CAIRO, Dec 27 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stressed the importance of strategic relations between the two countries.
During a phone call on Friday, the two ministers expressed their keenness to boost bilateral cooperation in all domains, particularly in light of the pressing challenges to the international community.
They also discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly in Syria and Gaza.
For his part, the Spanish foreign minister said that he had a meeting in November in Madrid with Khaled el-Anani, the candidate for the top post of UNESCO director-general, whose candidacy is supported by both the African Union and the Arab League.
He assured the Egyptian foreign minister of Spain’s full support for the nominee for the position of UNESCO Director-General. (MENA)
