PORT SUDAN, Dec 4 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty Wednesday said that Egypt will spare no effort to support Sudan during the current circumstances.
Abdelatty highlighted his visit to Sudan that conveyed a message of solidarity and support from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to President of the Sovereign Council of Sudan Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah al Burhan.
The top Egyptian diplomat, in statements to Al Qahera News channel on the sidelines of his visit to Sudan, reaffirmed Egypt's unwavering and full support for Sudan to overcome its current ordeal.
"Whatever harms Sudan harms Egypt, with the national security of both countries is linked," Abdelatty said.
He added that during his visit to Sudan he met with Burhan, Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Youssef, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning of Sudan Gebriel Ibrahim, a galaxy of high-ranking Sudanese officials, members of Egyptian community in Sudan, notable Sudanese figures as well as a host of Sudanese businessmen who have investments in Egypt.
The meetings with the Sudanese leadership were warm and friendly, reflecting the depth of the relations and ties linking the two countries, their peoples and leaderships, Abdelatty said.
Egypt hopes that the tragic war in Sudan would come to an end, along with reaching an immediate ceasefire, Abdelatty said.
He voiced Egypt's desire that Sudan shall restore its status and stability. (MORE)
