TUNIS, May 12 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted on Thursday that inflation has become for the first time in many decades a real threat to various countries worldwide.

In a press release, the cabinet quoted the premier as saying during a meeting of the Egyptian-Tunisian Economic Forum that the economic consequences of the Covid-19 and war have affected all economic sectors.

The forum was also attended by Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden in Tunis in which delegations from both countries also attended.

During the meeting, Madbouli asserted the importance of adopting new routes to tackle the inflation including increasing national production, discovering new horizons to enhance current economic resources, and entrenching competing role within the international export chains.

He also stressed the need for an overall industrial renaissance in all industrial and service sectors to meet the local market's needs and to bridge the gap between imports and exports. (MENA)
