SHARJAH, The UAE, May 1 (MENA) - Egypt's participation in the 16th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF 2025) is distinguished and rich one, with a large number of Egyptian publishers and writers participating in the event, said Ahmed bin Rakkad al-Ameri, the CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority.

The diverse Egyptian cultural programs and events held during the festival underscore Egypt's prestigious cultural and historical status, the head of Sharjah Book Authority added.

In exclusive statements to MENA, the CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority said: "We have plans for joint projects with the Egyptian side. These projects were discussed with Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hano during his participation in the opening of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival on April 23rd.The details of these projects will be announced in due course, and they will enrich the Arab cultural scene."

Concerning the 16th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival 2025, Ameri said, the Sharjah Book Authority was keen in this edition to present integrated programs that cater to all educational and recreational aspects for children, under the directives of Sharjah Ruler Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi.

He added that the festival was not just a local Emirati event, but a global multicultural platform that brought together participants from more than 70 countries, each carrying their thought, literature, and way of expression.

The Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival offers a wide range of activities and events for all ages, including creative workshops, interactive shows and discussion panels.

This year’s event features more than 1,024 cultural, artistic and entertainment activities designed to bring families together through creative workshops and interactive theatrical performances. The festival runs from April 23 to May 4, 2025, at Expo Center Sharjah. (MENA)
