The Kuwaiti emir and President Sisi agreed on the necessity of abiding by the ceasefire deal in Gaza with its three phases, which was hammered out through joint efforts by Egypt, Qatar and the United States, said the statement.

The two leaders expressed their condemnation and denunciation of Israeli occupation forces' violation of this deal and resumption of hostile operations in the Gaza Strip, it added.

They underlined the necessity of putting an end to the targeting of civilians, in addition to ensuring a safe, sufficient and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the occupied territories; in implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions, the latest of which was resolution 2720.

They also affirmed their rejection of continued military operations by the Israeli occupation forces, warning against catastrophic humanitarian consequences of the Israeli practices that can lead to widening the conflict, and posing a threat to the region's security and stability, as well as to global security and peace, it pointed out.

The two leaders underlined the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities as regards settling the Palestinian issue through implementing the two-state solution and establishing a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital; in line with relevant international references, said the statement.

They expressed their categorical rejection and strong condemnation of all attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause as well as the violations committed by Israel, the occupying power, of international law and international humanitarian law, it added.

They also emphasized their rejection of all attempts to displace Palestinians from their territories in Gaza and the West Bank under any name or pretext, it noted. (MORE)
