CAIRO, April 17 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli thanked Thursday Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafi el Gebali over wise moderation of Parliament's sessions.

During the prime minister's review at the Cabinet meeting of recent sessions of the House regarding representatives' deliberations pertaining to the final account of the State Budget (2023-2024) and other files, the prime minister said the government will work to implement the various recommendations and observations forwarded by MPs in a way that contributes to achieving national interest, in light of full cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities.

In this regard, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk
presented the most important observations of the MPs that took place during the discussion of the final account of the State Budget (2023-2024), as well as the draft new budget for the Fiscal Year (2025-2026), tackling the necessity of working to reduce debt, as well as restructuring economic bodies and developing their performance, as it has already been noted that the Egyptian government has a detailed plan to work on reducing debt during the coming period and it was presented to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as measures will be taken to implement it, in a way that contributes to achieving these goals.

The minister of finance explained that regarding economic bodies, it was pointed out that there is already a committee formed to work on restructuring and developing economic bodies, merging what is new, or canceling some... pointing out that the Prime Minister has previously met with the members of the committee more than once, and work is scheduled to implement the outputs of this committee with the ministries and concerned bodies.

Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el Mashat, summarized the discussions that took place in Parliament regarding the final account and a review of the main objectives of the draft economic and social development plan for the fiscal year (2025-2026), noting that the policies and government work programs, the objectives of the new fiscal year plan, and the sector-related features of the plan (2025-2026) were explained, as well as the plan’s directions in achieving the dimensions of sectors' development.

Meanwhile, Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran thanked the Parliament for issuing the labor law that witnessed serious discussions till a formulation was reached that was praised by international organizations, noting that the law is compatible with international labor standards and contributes to achieving the interests of the government, business owners, as well as workers.

The law strongly guarantees a labor market and an enabling environment that attracts investment, in addition to providing social protection for citizens, and fair wages to workers to better serve economic development.

Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs and Political Communication Mahmoud Fawzi also reviewed the government’s response to discussions of MPs on the final account of the state budget (2023-2024), thanking the MPs of the majority for their observations concerning the final account of the budget and representatives of the opposition for their objective and constructive opinions.

Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk highlighted discussions before the Irrigation Committee of the House of Representatives, over the settlement of cotton famers' dues during which he affirmed the government's commitment to paying delayed dues in line with directives of the prime minister and a plan agreed upon with relevant ministries.
