CAIRO, April 11 (MENA) - Upon presidential directives, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on the sidelines of their participation in the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which kicked off in Turkey's premier resort city on Friday.

Conveying the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to his Somali counterpart, Abdelatty expressed hopes for permanent peace, security, and stability in the Arab nation.

He underscored Egypt's full commitment to supporting the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia, as well as Somali state institutions and any efforts to achieve security and stability in the country, given its paramount importance for establishing peace, stability, and security in the Horn of Africa.

Abdelatty also reaffirmed Egypt's support for Somalia's efforts against terrorism and extremism at such a critical time, reiterating Cairo's commitment to providing all forms of support necessary to defeat terrorism and maintain regional peace and stability.

Meanwhile, the Somali leader voiced sincere appreciation for Egypt's efforts in support of his country, hailing the deeply-rooted strategic ties binding both countries.

The three-day forum is bringing together global leaders, diplomats, policymakers, experts, and academics to address pressing international challenges in a time of major geopolitical shifts. It is centered around the theme "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World" and aims to explore how diplomacy can be re-imagined to tackle both regional and global challenges. (MENA)
