CAIRO, April 10 (MENA) – Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty underlined, in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, the importance of self-restraint during the current delicate stage in the region.
He urged to avoid taking any step that would increase tension in the region.
The call tackled the latest developments in the region and the importance of containing escalations, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf said on Thursday.
The call also took up the developments in the Red Sea, asserting the necessity of protecting freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and restoring calm to the region.
The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip where Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s efforts exerted to consolidate the ceasefire deal in Gaza, start the implementation of the second phase of the agreement and work on containing the current escalation. (MENA)
