He stressed the importance of Syria’s full commitment to combating terrorism and contributing to regional stability.
Macron voiced agreement with Sisi’s support for Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, affirming that both France and Egypt are committed to Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability.
He underlined the need to uphold the ceasefire and enable Lebanon to fully restore its sovereignty, allowing the Lebanese army, assisted by international monitoring mechanisms, the United Nations, and UNIFIL, to secure all its territories and confront all terrorist movements.
The French President noted that his discussions with Sisi also covered the situations in Sudan and Ethiopia, particularly as the second anniversary of the Sudanese conflict approaches.
He described the humanitarian crisis in Sudan as one of the worst in the world today, stressing that the Sudanese people, whom he called “brothers” to both France and Egypt, must not be abandoned.
Macron emphasized the readiness of both nations to respond jointly, support a negotiated solution, and restore peace, while upholding the commitments made during the Paris Conference.
On Ethiopia, Macron affirmed that every effort would be made to address sensitive issues, especially those concerning the Nile water, which is vital to Egypt. He emphasized the need for a mutually agreed-upon framework for water sharing among riparian countries.
The French President expressed support for US President Donald Trump’s stated objective of ending the war in Ukraine, voicing hope for a strong and lasting peace that guarantees the security of Ukraine and Europe, and serves the interests of all involved parties.

"What unites us with President Sisi, whether in Gaza or Ukraine, is one voice, the voice of peace. What also binds France and Egypt is our rejection of double standards. Egypt’s stance on Ukraine is strong, just as France’s position in defending Gaza is firm. When we defend peace, we defend it everywhere. These are the values that unite France and Egypt," Macron concluded. (MENA)
