CAIRO, April 6 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Egypt highly values distinguished relations with Japan, lauding projects carried out by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with different Egyptian bodies.
Abdelatty made the remarks on Sunday during his meeting with Tomoko Abe, a member of the Japanese House of Representatives of the Constitutional Democratic Party.
The foreign minister extolled the successful experience of Egyptian-Japanese schools in all governorates and the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E- JUST).
Abdelatty briefed Abe on Egypt's efforts to stabilize the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and implement the Arab plan for reconstructing the Palestinian enclave.
In this regard, the foreign minister stated Egypt looks forward to Japan's participation in an international conference for the reconstruction of Gaza to be hosted by Cairo.
He also expressed Egypt's appreciation of Japan's decision to receive number of wounded Palestinians from Egyptian hospitals.
On her part, the Japanese parliament member commended special ties between Japan and Egypt.
Abe conveyed a message to Abdelatty from Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi, in which he praised Egypt's role in securing a truce deal in Gaza.
The Japanese top diplomat invited his Egyptian counterpart to visit Japan for holding the Egypt-Japan strategic dialogue in the next phase. (MENA)
