WASHINGTON, March 30 (MENA) - US President Donald Trump said all options, especially military force are on the table to annex the island of Greenland expressing his indifference if foreign car manufacturers raise prices due to customs duties.
Trump added he had "serious talks" about annexing Greenland, which is currently a semi-autonomous Danish territory, saying: "We will get Greenland 100%," Sky News reported Sunday.
He said there is a good possibility that we can achieve this without using military force, but he does not rule out any possibility.
When Trump was asked what message the acquisition of Greenland would send to Russia and the rest of the world, he said: “I don't really think about that. Greenland is a completely separate, different topic. It's international peace, international security and power.”
He said ships are sailing out of Greenland from Russia, China and many other countries. We will not allow things to happen that would harm the world or the US.”
Trump said “I think there’s a good possibility that we could do it without military force.”
“This is world peace, this is international security,” he said, but added: “I don’t take anything off the table,” he added. (MENA)
