In response to a question about the comprehensive Egyptian plan for the reconstruction of Gaza and Israel's violation of the ceasefire agreement, and how to deal with it, Abdelatty said the current situation is completely unacceptable following the resumption of hostilities against the residents in Gaza.
A return to the ceasefire agreement is necessary, and this is the only logical solution that guarantees the release of the hostages, Abdelatty pointed out.
He stressed the importance of avoiding the policy of starvation during the holy month if Ramadan and using it as a means of collective punishment against a defenseless population.
In response to a question about whether Sudan is close to stability now, Abdelatty said Egypt monitors the situation in Sudan, and supports Sudanese state institutions and is keen to restore security and stability.
“There are 5.5 million Sudanese citizens in Egypt now to whom we provide all forms of support and protection, but the overwhelming majority of them want to return home so that Sudan can be rebuilt,” he added.
He emphasized the need to preserve the resources of the Sudanese people, noting that there is cooperation and consultation with the European Union (EU) in this regard.
Abdelatty said the focus must be on solutions that ensure Sudan remains united and stable by supporting state institutions and the national state to achieve national interests.
Sudanese, Yemeni, Syrian, and Lebanese people must preserve their institutions and completely reject any attempts meant at dividing them and tearing their countries apart, Abdelatty warned.
In response to a question about the possibility of the European official pressuring Israel during her visit tomorrow to stop attacks on Palestinians and the possibility of deploying an EU force to Gaza, Kallas said that she will travel to Israel and will address all issues, including the importance of stopping the killing and Israeli aggression.
She noted that the importance of Gaza ceasefire and the release of hostages will be addressed during her talks with the Israeli side. (MENA)
