CAIRO, March 19 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a meeting on Wednesday with Ahmed Elsewedy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Elsewedy Electric as well as Ahmed el Assar, Chairman and CEO of the Arab Contractors Company.

The two companies make up the consortium that is carrying out the Julius Nyerere Dam project in Tanzania.

The meeting was held during Abdelatty’s current visit to Tanzania, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

It was meant to follow up on the progress of the construction process as well as to emphasize the presidential directives as regards giving top priority to the project, which is considered a model to follow in terms of cooperation among the Nile Basin countries, the statement noted. (MENA)
