CAIRO, March 11 (MENA) - Minister of of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Tuesday highlighted the effective role of the media outlets in raising public awareness about foreign challenges that have been facing Egypt in recent years.

Abdelatty, during a meeting with heads of national media institutions, notable journalists and media officials at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, shed light on the role of media in forming people's political culture, amid the current regional turbulences.

The foreign minister reviewed constants of Egypt's foreign policy as well as regional challenges, urging the necessity of upholding these constants amid the consecutive tensions in the region. He underscored Egypt's commitment to the strategic balance concept.

Abdelattty expounded the developments of the Palestinian issues, with the latest Arab summit that took in Cairo highlighting efforts exerted by Egypt to mobilize support to the Arab Plan for Gaza Recovery and Reconstruction.

The meeting tackled Egypt's stance regarding updates in Syria, Sudan, Libya and the Horn of Africa, along with Egypt's water security.

Also, the meeting witnessed discussions on several regional and international issues and their repercussions on the Egyptian national security. (MENA)
