AMMAN, March 9 (MENA) - The meeting of Syria's neighboring countries hosted by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates kickstarted here Sunday to discuss practical mechanisms for cooperation in combating terrorism, drug and arms smuggling as well as confronting common challenges.

According to official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates ambassador Sufyan Qudah, the meeting will take up ways to support the Syrian people in their efforts to rebuild their country based on guaranteeing Syria's unity, sovereignty, security and stability, free from terrorism and also guaranteeing conditions for the voluntary return of refugees, along with preserving Syrian citizens' rights.

The ministers of foreign affairs, defense, chiefs of staff and directors of intelligence services in Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Turkey will participate in the meeting, the spokesman added. (MENA)
