CAIRO, March 5 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's speech during the extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo Tuesday is "historic," and asserts the constants of the Egyptian stand and full support for Palestine, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said Wednesday.

In his weekly press conference, Madbouli added that the Egyptian and Arab position was commended, especially as regards unanimously adopting a clear-cut plan for Gaza reconstruction process without displacing the Palestinians. This praise was conspicuously evident in the speeches of the international institutions present at the summit, according to him.

He pointed out that the summit witnessed a complete consensus on the decisions that were approved, most notably the adoption by the Arab countries of the Gaza early recovery and reconstruction plan that Egypt worked on in cooperation with Palestine.

The government was heavily tasked during the past period with developing this plan, as it made use of all the studies presented by the Palestinian Authority, he said.

He pointed out that the summit confirmed that there will be no stability in the Middle East without a permanent and just solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital.

He stressed that the summit resolutions represent a first step, and that the Arab countries, the Islamic world, and the international community need to work on translating these resolutions into effective steps on the ground during the coming period. (MENA)
