CAIRO, March 4 (MENA) - Economic and social development plan comes within the framework of the broader vision for Egypt 2030 as the state seeks, through development plans to make more efforts in basic sectors, Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el-Homsani said Tuesday.

In phone contact with Extra News channel the spokesman said, the state is exerting more effort to develop promising basic sectors of the Egyptian economy, including agriculture, industry, communications, information technology and tourism, but there is a fundamental and major aspect related to human development.

The human development aspect comes primarily within the framework of the state's efforts and the Ministerial Group for Human Development setting integrated plans in this framework, in addition to efforts undertaken by the state in various sectors, incorporating human development as a priority in the investment plan, namely in the health and education sectors, he added.

Homosani said the main part of the economic and social development plan is to support the role of the private sector, that will result in providing more jobs and achieving better income rates for citizens.

Regarding the most prominent areas targeted by private investments in the industrial sector within the framework of the economic and social development plan for the year 2025-2026, he said, the State continues to support the private sector through implementing a number of policies adopted during the last period, including working to reduce burdens on private sector by unifying fees an entities dealing with investors, the spokesman said.

He also shed light on the state's efforts in Egyptian ports in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, the Egyptian Customs Authority and the Ministry of Investment to reduce the time period for customs clearance documents, including releasing goods and production requirements, to two days.

The spokesman referred to an ambitious plan to develop Egyptian customs in general to reduce a lot of cost and time for investors. (MENA)
