CAIRO, March 4 (MENA) - Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran discussed with a delegation from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) promoting cooperation in joint files within the framework of the Labor Market Access Project (LMAP).
In a statement Tuesday, the minister welcomed heightened cooperation with GIZ, especially in areas of common interest, highlighting the ministry's efforts towards developing a system of vocational training and qualification of youth in line with labor market needs at home and abroad.
The minister directed the initiation of coordination meetings between the two sides to formulate the project's executive work plan, according to the statement.
The meeting took up ways to meet the project's objectives. The project is being implemented in the governorates of Greater Cairo and Alexandria over a period of 3.5 years, in cooperation with local and international partners, with the aim of improving youths access to job openings through strengthening the strategic and technical capabilities of the ministry's Central Department of Employment via forging a future employment policy, it added.
Enhancing technical and executive skills of the employees of the Gender Equality Unit with regard to improving women's entry into the labor market pertaining to providing digital solutions to enhance employment in the employment department, expanding job rehabilitation services for Egyptian youth in a way that targets specific groups and is concerned with gender equality, together with expanding services provided to companies from service providers selected from the private or public sector with regard to decent employment, also figured high during the meeting, according to the statement.
