CAIRO, Feb 26 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty asserted on Wednesday Egypt's support to the security and stability in Iraq.
He lauded the tangible development in Egyptian-Iraqi relations in recent years.
This came during Abdelatty's meeting with Head of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement Ammar el Hakim.
Abdelatty said that Egypt is following up the joint cooperation programs with Iraq to boost the different aspects of bilateral relations to contribute to upgrading relations for the interest of both peoples.
The meeting also tackled means to promote cooperation between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.
Both sides discussed the latest developments in Gaza.
Abdelatty reviewed Egyptian efforts exerted to guarantee the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, reiterating Egypt's rejection to the displacement of the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Abdelatty asserted Egypt's supportive stance to Syria and its sovereignty, necessitating launching a comprehensive political operation including all the segments of the Syrian nation.
He reiterated the necessity to combat terror and extremism in Syria.
Abdelatty praised the important political developments that took place recently in Lebanon. (MENA)
